Statement
I see my work as a connection between my contemporary life and my childhood memories. When I look at objects like clouds, butterflies, balloons, and others, they bring back warm recollections from my past. These hazy memories, intertwined with my current emotions, invoke a sense of nostalgia that drives me to make my jewellery pieces.
My work features a blend of materials such as plexiglass, acrylic, enamel, and various metals like sterling silver, niobium and titanium. By combining 3D molding techniques with hand fabrication, I express my deep passion for creating different jewellery collections and table objects. During my time at NSCAD University for two years, I experimented with various materials to create body works to understand more about contemporary jewellery.
The exhibition - Journey & Connections showcases my exploration of combining different materials to create a collection of works representing my interpretation of contemporary jewellery. The display features wearable jewellery pieces and table objects I made while studying at NSCAD University.
