I hope these little balloons can bring you the stories of my journey, Teapot, 2023
Sterling Silver, Polymer Clay, Plexiglass, Wood, Stainless Steel, 17 x 9 x 14.5 cm
The inspiration for this teapot comes from my personal experience. My father left my mother and me a few years ago and went to another world, but I firmly believe that he was just with us in a different way. The image of the teapot is a metaphor for myself, carrying my "home" on my back and starting my journey. In my culture, people continue to look at you from the sky after they pass away, so I chose the little balloon element on the pot lid. I hope these balloons can bring my father the stories of my journey. If you have "someone" you want to see, I hope this happy snail can give you some comfort and strength to keep going.
